Jewish Teen Leadership

Baltimore Hebrew Congregation

Baltimore Hebrew Congregation offers a range of opportunities for our teens from our Madrichim program to Confirmation to a Teen Advisory Committee that ensures our teens are heard while building strong leadership skills. We believe that our Sunday programs, Alternative options, Youth groups, Shabbat/Holiday Services, camps and social action programs are just the beginning in creating a foundation for living a Jewish life.

With 90 years of experience, BBYO is the largest pluralistic youth movement and most effective provider of identity-building and leadership development programs for Jewish teens. Headquartered in Washington, DC, BBYO encompasses over 35 regions across North America, as well as Central and South America, Europe, Israel, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand and employs more than 130 professional staff members and over 700 volunteer advisors. Among BBYO’s more than 400,000 alumni are many of the most prominent figures in Jewish communal life, as well as people of note in the business, political, academic and cultural worlds.

Friendship Circle

Friendship Circle creates meaningful relationships and friendships between teen volunteers and children with special needs, increasing confidence, igniting dreams, and redefining worldviews for both parties.

Har Sinai Temple Youth (HaSTY)

HaSTY (Har Sinai Temple Youth) is the senior youth group of Har Sinai Congregation, although membership is open to any Jewish teen in grades 9-12! We have monthly events that are planned by our teen executive board. HaSTY is affiliated with NFTY-MAR (the North American Federation of Temple Youth, Mid-Atlantic Region). Many of our members are active in NFTY-MAR, BBYO, The Associated teen programs, and other teen programs throughout the Baltimore area.

NCSY is the premier organization dedicated to connect, inspire and empower Jewish teens and encourage passionate Judaism through Torah and Tradition.

NFTY is a movement that builds strong, welcoming, inspired communities through teen-powered engagement. Together we pursue tikkun olam, personal growth, youth empowerment, and deep connections, all rooted in Reform Judaism. NFTY’s Mid-Atlantic Region includes Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia, eastern West Virginia, and North Carolina (excluding Charlotte) | | Instagram: nfty_mar | SnapChat: nftymar

Seaboard USY

Seaboard Region USY spreads throughout all of Maryland, Virginia, the District of Columbia, and northeastern North Carolina.  Any synagogue that is affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism can have a USY and Kadima chapter. Chapters meet regularly for a variety of activities, including social outings, educational programs, and community service opportunities. The region sponsors many programs throughout the year, including conventions, dances, and a basketball league, which are coordinated between the Regional Youth Director and the chapters.
