Due to new indoor mask wearing rules in Baltimore City, established August 9, we will be requiring all members, staff and guests, ages 2+, to wear properly fitting, non-mesh, masks indoors at our Park Heights facility.

All non-vaccinated members, age 2+, are required to wear appropriately fitted, non-mesh, masks indoors at all times in our Owings Mills facility as well.

Begining, Sunday August 30:
> Reservations will be required for all Group Fitness activities.
> JCC Staff will be required to wear masks in our Owings Mills building as well.

Please review our Mask Policy before coming to the JCC.

If you have any questions please contact our Membership team at Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

Starting Sunday, August 30, we will be requiring reservations for Group Fitness classes to ensure ample social distancing in our classes. Racquetball Courts also require online reservations.

Medical Check-Ins
We are no longer conducting health screenings and temperature checks for members, guests and staff at our member entrances.  These check-ins will continue at the Stoler Early Learning Center for all ELC staff, children and parents.

COVID Symptoms or Exposure

  • Staff, members and guests are being asked not to enter the building if they are unwell and experiencing any symptoms that could be related to COVID. You must be symptom-free for 24 hours before returning to the JCC.
  • Vaccinated staff, members and guests who have been exposed to COVID will not have to quarantine.  Proof of vaccination will need to be shown to avoid the quarantine period.
  • Unvaccinated staff, members and guests exposed to COVID will have to quarantine for a period of 10 days (14 days for ELC staff) or submit a negative COVID test result.
  • Staff, members and guests that test positive for COVID will need to quarantine for a period of at least 10 days (14 days for ELC staff) and may not return until symptom-free.
  • We will continue to carefully evaluate and make ongoing decisions in the best interest of the safety and health of our staff and members.

  • Our enhanced round-the-clock cleaning procedures, using hospital-grade disinfectant cleaners, help assure that all surfaces and high touch points are kept clean and free of bacterial build-up.  This includes the use of Electrostatic Antimicrobial Fog Sprayers that enables the cleaning solutions to adheres to surfaces and penetrate hard-to-reach areas including cracks and crevices
  • Members should continue to wipe down and clean all equipment before and after use.
  • Our housekeeping team routinely cleans throughout the day and a deep cleaning is done midday and at the end of each day.
  • Disinfectant wipes are available for members and staff to use in all our sports and wellness areas to kill bacteria, germs, and viruses.
  • Touchless, hand sanitizer stations are readily available throughout our facilities.
  • Our Early Learning Center and J Camps team are following cleaning and sanitizing protocols recommended by local and national medical experts.

  • We provide regular preventive maintenance to our units including routine filter changes. Our air filters come with a Minimum Efficiency Reporting Values (MERV) rating of 11. MERV ratings define the effectiveness of the filter against airborne particles which are measured in Microns. Each Micron is one millionth of a meter in size. We use MERV 11 filters in all J cooling and heating units, the highest filter recommended for our heating and cooling systems which also enable unobstructed air flow. MERV filters rated 11 catch particles that are 1.0 - 3.0 microns and are often used in hospital laboratories.

  • Sodium hypochlorite is a CDC approved pool disinfectant which is applied in swimming pools for water disinfection and oxidation. At our Park Heights facility and all of our outdoor pools on the Owings Mills campus, we add sodium hypochlorite to the water in a form similar to household bleach. At our Owings Mills indoor facility, we introduce sodium hypochlorite by electrically breaking down saltwater. Disinfectant levels are continuously maintained by electronic controllers and are manually checked throughout the day. Ultraviolet (UV) light - an extremely effective sanitizer commonly used in medical environments and on municipal water supplies – is also employed at both of our indoor facilities. We run a large fan over our pools to help improve airflow in the natatorium to reduce the buildup of chloramines on the pool surface. Throughout the day we increase the fan speed and periodically exchange the natatorium air by bringing in fresh air from the outside.
